Through financial modeling of legal concepts, Scott brings clarity to the complex planning issues that affluent families face. He illustrates and quantifies how family assets flow for generations as a result of wills, trusts and other planning techniques, before coordinating with his clients’ CPAs and attorneys to fully integrate their wealth preservation, wealth transfer, life insurance and philanthropic planning.
Scott is a Certified Public Accountant with over 20 years of experience in the financial industry, previously working as an estate planning specialist for a well-known financial planning firm headquartered in Atlanta. Prior to this, he worked as a Senior Auditor for Arthur Andersen during which time he planned and performed all phases of audits for both private and SEC companies. Scott received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with honors, from the Fisher School of Accounting at the University of Florida and his Master of Accounting degree from Florida International University. In addition to his CPA license, Scott holds the designation of Chartered Life Underwriter®. Having lived for nearly a year in Madrid, Spain, he is fluent in Spanish.
Scott and his wife, Liz, have two children, Cole and Violet, as well as 2 dogs and 5 cats. He enjoys spending time with his family, travel, and reading. He is also a huge soccer fan, coaching, watching and writing about the beautiful game – and he even still plays on some Monday nights when his knees don’t object too much.
